She also doesn't seem to do much without someone else helping her. She hasn't actually been called out for her cheating. However, she cheated and the only consequence she got for that was getting ignored by Regina for about a week. I could technically sympathise with her over the loss of her husband. My BIGGEST issue with Delilah is how she's being allowed to play victim and get away with it. This is an embarrassment and whoever wrote this character should be embarrassed. I fail to see what her friends see in her, let alone any viewer at home. But what I cannot forgive her for is being all of those things and so annoying at the same time. I could forgive Delilah for cheating, I could forgive her for lying. What happened? Why are they forgiving her so quickly? What has changed? Has the world gone insane? For about three seconds and everything is forgiven so fast viewers are likely to get whiplash. And yet, when the truth is discovered the friends of the family are mad…. This is a character who has gone through no growth and no redeemable arch whatsoever. That about summarizes the character development, or more accurately lack thereof of Delilah Dixon. To further twist the knife we find out it was she, the bored housewife, who initiated the affair to begin with.īut wait, there’s more! The wife then turns out to be pregnant with the best friend’s child and proceeds to lie to everyone about it claiming it’s the dead man’s child. Abusive husband? Was he a cheater himself? It turns out…. What a twist? Surely there must be some explanation. It is a human emotion.īut then, we learn that the grieving widow was actually having an affair with her husband’s best friend.

We have all felt loss to varying degrees in life.

We as the viewers instantly feel remorse, and to some extent connect with the character. A woman's husband kills himself and is suddenly shocked beyond belief.
